Dr Leterrier presents exciting applications of localization microscopy to the understanding of neuronal cellular architecture and function. He presents recently published data offering a new nanoscale view of neuronal clathrin, and a mechanistic basis for its slow transport and presynaptic targeting. Moreover, he shows how he has used a combination of platinum-replica electron and optical super-resolution microscopy to further the comprehension of the cortical cytoskeleton of axons at the ultrastructural level.
